August 26, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Kristin (Schurmeier) Wallace, a 1985 graduate of DePauw University, is the new executive director for the United Way of Jefferson and North Walworth County, Wisconsin. She assumed the position August 15.
"Wallace has a bachelor of arts degree from DePauw University and has a master's degree in heath services administration from Arizona State University," reports the Watertown Daily Times. "She worked in administration for the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz., for about eight years. She also has experience as a director and employee of two large nonprofit organizations while living in Iowa."
"Kristin surfaced from a strong pool of applicants to serve as our executive director," United Way board member Jill Kessenich tells the newspaper. "She has a wealth of experience in the health care industry and with nonprofit organizations. She will definitely help advance the United Way of Jefferson and North Walworth Counties."
The article notes Wallace's volunteer activities, including service to the Fort Atkinson school board, the Fort Atkinson Historical Society, Fort Atkinson High School, the Girl Scouts, and F.A.S.T. (Fort Atkinson Swim Team). She is a Fort Atkinson High School college planning volunteer and a Girl Scout co-leader.
