Prof. Keith Tonne to Headline Benefit Concert

102838September 21, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — "World-renowned tenor Keith Tonne will return to Angola and perform at a First Teaser benefit Sept. 25," reports Indiana's Angola Herald Republican. "Tonne, formerly of Angola and director of opera at DePauw University, will perform from 2:30-4 p.m. that day in the Fabiani Theatre on the campus of Trine University ... All proceeds will go to the preservation of the Furtii Center for Performing Arts, also part of Trine."

According to the report, Tonne, associate professor of music at DePauw, "has also taught at Indiana University Purdue University in Fort Wayne, Michigan State University, Jacksonville State University and Indiana University ... For eight years, Tonne was lead lyric tenor at Darmstadt State Opera Theatre in Germany. He has also performed more than 30 roles with guest appearances in51209 opera houses in Germany, Switzerland. Belgium and Austria. He also appeared as a soloist with many other U.S. and European orchestras, including at the Lincoln Center with the Mozart Requiem."
