September 24, 2011, Memphis, Tenn. — The road was not kind to DePauw University's football team for a second consecutive week, as the Tigers came up on the short end of a 24-14 outcome today at Rhodes College. The black and gold fall to 1-2 on the season, while the Lynx improve to 1-2.
Rhodes took a 7-0 lead to the halftime locker room, and built its lead to 17-0 until DePauw dented the scoreboard twice in the 4th quarter.
It was the 14th consecutive year the two teams -- former Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rivals -- have met on the gridiron. DePauw's series lead is now 11-3, including a 6-2 edge in games played in Memphis. Today's outcome broke a ten-game Tiger winning streak versus Rhodes.
