October 10, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Antonya Nelson, who was named by the New Yorker as one of the "twenty young fiction writers for the new millennium," will come to the DePauw University campus on Wednesday, November 2. She will present a reading on behalf of the James and Marilou Kelly Writers Series at 7:30 p.m. in Meharry Hall of historic East College. The program is presented free of admission charge and is open to the public.
Nelson is the author of four novels, including Bound, which was published last year, and Female Trouble. Her short story collections
include Nothing Right, Female Trouble, Some Fun and In the Land of Men. She has been the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts grant, the Flannery O'Connor Award for the Short Story and her work has appeared in the anthologies Prize Stories and Best American Short Stories.
She is the Cullen Chair in Creative Writing at the University of Houston.
