85083November 27, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — "More colleges are offering four-year degree guarantees, where you don't pay extra if your child's education spills over into additional semesters," begins a story by the Wall Street Journal's Emily Glazer. "The guarantee is currently being offered by about 20 private colleges and a few public schools, says Tony Pals, a spokesman for the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and an increasing number of schools are slated to offer the option in the fall of 2012."

The story notes, "For instance, DePauw University in Indiana will waive tuition 94748for courses needed to complete the degree so long as certain 'stipulations' are met, according to its student handbook. Among them: Students must select a major by the middle of sophomore year and complete a full-time course load with at least a C average."
