March 10, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — David Kimbell, a 1989 graduate of DePauw University, has been named vice president of marketing for Chicago-based wireless carrier U.S. Cellular. Kimbell is responsible for the development of strategic branding and communications initiatives that drive customer growth and loyalty. The company's marketing, customer strategy, brand and media relations teams report to him.
"Kimbell has 14 years of marketing experience and an extensive background
in consumer insights, brand positioning and social media strategy," notes an announcement. "He
most recently served as chief marketing officer and senior vice
president at Seventh Generation, the nation's leading
environmentally-friendly household products company. Prior to that, he
held leadership roles at PepsiCo, including vice president of marketing
for the Quaker Foods division, as well as key brand management positions
at Procter & Gamble."

An economics and management major at DePauw, Kimbell went on to earn an M.B.A. from Purdue University.
