August 21, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Members of the DePauw University community are invited to join their Greencastle neighbors on Sunday,. September 11. for a commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States. A service, which is open to all, will be held at 4 p.m. in the bandshell of Robe-Ann Park.
The program will feature music from DePauw Capella, Greencastle High School Classics, Greencastle Community Choir, and the bell choirs of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church. The service will also include prayers and reflections on the events of September 11, 2001, and the people who worked tirelessly in the hours and days that followed the attacks.
In the event of rain, the program will take places in Kresge Auditorium, located within DePauw's Green Center for the Performing Arts.
DePauw students, faculty and staff held several vigils on September 11, 2001, including one on East College lawn and a candlelight program that evening.
