September 26, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — "As the DePauw Discourse 2011: Empowering Society Through the Arts approaches, the Greencastle and DePauw University communities await the arrival of world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and a number of distinguished alumni and guests artists and arts leaders," begins an article published in today's Banner-Graphic. "Though there was a quick sellout of the Sept. 30 Yo-Yo Ma concert, tickets remain available for his lecture, 'Reflections on a Life in Music,' which will include a brief cello performance. Tickets for the 8 p.m. lecture Thursday night in Kresge Auditorium may be obtained at no charge in the box office of the Judson and Joyce Green Center for Performing Arts weekdays from noon to 3:30 p.m." (photo: the north side of the Green Center promotes Ma's DePauw appearances)
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for Thursday night's lecture, while the audience can begin arriving at 5 p.m. for the Friday evening concert.
"Yo-Yo Ma's visit, which includes a master class and a number of engagements with DePauw students, is made possible by DePauw alumni Judson and Joyce Taglauer Green," adds the report.
